About 46 percent of Filipino adults believe the Philippine economy will improve in the next six months, according to the latest survey by OCTA Research. The Tugon ng Masa (TNM) National Survey is an independent survey conducted regularly by OCTA Research. It was conducted from July 22 to 26 and showed that less than half of Filipino adults remain optimistic about the future. This figure is 4 percent lower than the 50 percent recorded in the first quarter survey conducted in March 2023.

In addition to the 46 percent who believe the economy will improve, the poll also found that 43 percent of Filipino adults think the economy will stay the same, while 6 percent believe it will get worse. The survey findings also showed that the percentage of Filipino adults who have a positive view of the Philippine economy in the next six months varies across major areas. The highest percentage was recorded in Balance Luzon, 54 percent, while the lowest was in the Visayas, 31 percent. In contrast, the percentage of Filipino adults who think the economy will get worse ranged from 2 to 11 percent. The Visayas had the highest percentage of respondents who believed the economy would worsen, at 11 percent, while Balans Luzon had the lowest percentage, at 2 percent.

Furthermore, the survey found that 55 percent of Filipino adults believe their quality of life will improve in the next six months, while 36 percent think it will stay the same and only 4 percent believe it will get worse.
