Airbus US Space & Defense has appointed Chris Tsirlis as vice president of business development and product innovation in their government solutions business, with a focus on satellite communications and network systems. Tsirlis announced his appointment in a LinkedIn post published on Sunday.
Tsirlis will bring over three decades of experience to his new role, having spent most of his career in the Marine Corps where he held senior leadership positions in information technology. In this role, he served as Director of IT and Commanding Officer of Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28, as well as IT Operations Officer for III Marine Expeditionary Unit G-6. His expertise in this area makes him a valuable addition to the Airbus team.
Prior to joining Airbus DS Government Solutions, Tsirlis worked as a technical product manager at Microsoft, where he also worked as a solutions architect focused on edge platforms for space/5G and hybrid cloud networks. In this role, he drove the development of cutting-edge technologies to support mission-critical customer workloads. His experience in both the military and the private sector will enable him to drive business development and product innovation at Airbus US Space & Defense.
