Amazon is making changes to its Amazon Fresh stores by replacing the Just Walk Out technology with a smart cart. This decision comes as part of an effort to revamp the grocery chain and was based on feedback from customers who wanted to see their bills and savings while they shopped. The company, which operates dozens of Fresh grocery stores across the country, is focusing on remodeling existing stores and selectively opening new ones.

Although the Just Walk Out technology will no longer be available in Amazon Fresh stores, it will continue to be offered in Amazon Go stores and some smaller Amazon Fresh stores in the UK. The company will also continue to offer the technology to third-party retailers, providing a checkout-free shopping experience. With this change in technology at Amazon Fresh stores, customers will now have the convenience of skipping the checkout line while also being able to track their spending in real time, addressing customer needs and preferences.
