Main Street Kent works with local business owners to host engaging and educational events that explore the science behind their businesses and other interesting topics. The “Science of” program returns with the theme of the eclipse in April. On Wednesday, April 3rd at 6pm, join us at North Water Brewing, located at 101 E. Craine Ave, on “The Science of Total Solar Eclipse Photography.”

Jerry L. Jividen, an experienced photo instructor, will share his experience in capturing stunning images of a total solar eclipse. He will present his eclipse photographs and provide valuable tips on safe and effective eclipse photography. Discover how to use the unique light of the eclipse to create stunning compositions beyond sun and moon images. After the lecture, there will be a question and answer session for the attendees.

Jerry is famous for his dramatic photograph of the Kent Mill fire, which was featured on the cover of Firehouse magazine. To learn more about his work and photography groups, visit his Meetup page at
