Anna Paquin recently attended the red carpet premiere of her latest film, “A Bit of Light,” directed by her husband Stephen Moyer. Despite winning an Oscar, Paquin used a cane at the event due to mobility issues caused by an undisclosed health problem she’s been dealing with for two years. In an interview with People, she revealed that it was a challenging time for her, especially since she needs a cane to walk and has difficulty speaking.

While the specifics of Paquina’s health issue have not been disclosed, sources say she is expected to make a full recovery. In “A Little Light,” Paquin plays a struggling mother who moves in with her father after losing custody of her children. The film also stars Ray Winstone, Youssef Kercourt, Pippa Bennett-Warner and Luca Hogan.

Paquin expressed her love for independent filmmaking, saying that’s where she got her start in the industry and that she values telling stories with integrity and truth. She credits her husband Moyer as her favorite co-star and the reason she agreed to star in the film, citing his strong directorial skills. “A Bit of Light” is set to hit theaters on April 5 through Quiver.
