The 49ers made a significant addition to their team by signing veteran cornerback Anthony Brown to their roster. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the signing took place on Tuesday, just days before the 49ers were scheduled to play at home against the Giants. Brown previously played for the Dallas Cowboys for seven seasons, but his 2022 season was cut short by a torn Achilles. After being released by Dallas, he joined the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad in late August, but was released by the team last week.

During his time with the Cowboys, Brown displayed his skills with impressive statistics. In a total of 94 regular season games, he recorded 324 tackles, nine interceptions, four sacks, five forced fumbles, one interception return for a touchdown and a fumble return. In addition to his regular season performances, he also made an impact in the playoffs, contributing 11 tackles and an interception in four postseason games.

By adding Anthony Brown to their roster, the 49ers hope to bolster their defense and benefit from his experience and playmaking ability. As they prepare for their upcoming game against the Giants, the team looks forward to seeing how Brown will contribute to their success on the field.
