Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) has recently been reaccredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board, meaning that it has met comprehensive national standards in public health practice. This accreditation is crucial because it ensures that health departments are continually improving and evolving to better serve their communities. ADHS is one of over 400 nationally accredited health departments and has held this recognition since 2017.

ADHS Executive Deputy Director Jenny Cunico expressed her pride in the department’s commitment to exceptional standards throughout Arizona. She also highlighted the fact that ADHS is not the only Arizona health department with this accreditation, as health departments in Maricopa, Mohave, Pima and Yavapai counties, as well as the Pascua Yaqui Health Services Department, also meet these high standards. Maintaining this accreditation demonstrates a commitment to improving public health practice and providing quality services to the communities they serve.
