Armenia recently handed over eight new minefield map logs to Azerbaijan, according to the Azerbaijan Mine Action Service (ANAMA). The submitted forms contain detailed information about the minefields surrounding the Murovdag mountain range in the Kelbayar (Karvachar) region. However, ANAMA stated that the latest data was not accurate and reliable, as the analysis of the patterns showed that the data did not match the actual minefields and that the coordinates of the points were incorrect.

In January, Armenia’s National Security Service announced that it would hand over eight newly discovered minefield map logs to Azerbaijan. Baku strongly reacted to this statement, stressing that it expects Armenia to present specific maps of all mined areas. The accuracy of the maps presented by Armenia under international pressure after the tripartite announcement of November 9, 2020 is only 25 percent.
