Julian Thomas Elementary School in Racine recently recognized fifth graders for their participation in the nearly two-month Fresh Air Science Fair. The fair began on February 1 with students forming teams and submitting projects that brought the concepts of clean air pollution to life. Papers were evaluated based on research quality, data analysis and creativity of presentation.

The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday, March 27, with Milwaukee Bucks mascot Bango and the trampoline dunk team, the Rim Rockers, in attendance. During the assembly, winners were announced and prizes awarded. First-place team members received three tickets to the Bucks’ April 10 game against the Orlando Magic, along with transportation to and from the game and vouchers for concession stands to use at Fiserv Forum during the game. Second and third place teams received Bucks merchandise as prizes.

The event was made possible through a partnership between Modine, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Racine Unified School District and the United Way of Racine County. Congratulations to all the winners of the Fresh Air Science Fair at Julian Thomas Elementary School in Racine!
