Boeing is going through a major shake-up as three of its top executives are set to leave the company. This includes CEO Dave Calhoun, chairman of the board Larry Kellner and head of commercial aircraft Stan Deal. The decision comes as Boeing grapples with increased scrutiny following quality control problems that came to light after a piece of an Alaska Airlines plane fell off mid-flight in January.

CEO Dave Calhoun is set to leave at the end of 2024. Board Chairman Larry Kellner has announced he will not seek re-election at the upcoming shareholder meeting. Commercial Airlines CEO Stan Deal is stepping down from the company as of Monday. Calhoun, who joined Boeing’s board 10 years ago and took over as CEO in 2020, is known for his operational skills, direct communication style and expertise in crisis management. However, the Alaska Airlines incident and subsequent revelations about Boeing’s manufacturing and quality control processes prompted the need for new leadership.

Stan Deal, who has been with Boeing since 2013, said in a statement that he made this decision after much consideration and with a heavy heart. He thanked his colleagues for their support over the years and said he was proud of what they had accomplished together. Kellner, who has been on Boeing’s board since 2013, also thanked his colleagues for their service but did not comment on why he decided not to seek re-election.

This situation is still unfolding and updates will be provided as more information becomes available. It remains to be seen how this shake-up will affect Boeing’s operations moving forward
