On Monday, a suspicious package was discovered in the 8600 block of Congdonhill Drive in Lower Macungie Township at 1:30 p.m., prompting businesses in Lehigh County to be evacuated and part of Route 100 to be closed. The Ryder Logistics warehouse, where the package was registered, was evacuated as a precaution by Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nathan Branoski.

Branoski also closed local roads, including Route 100 at Spring Creek Road, as he continued his investigation. The Allentown Bomb Squad was called to Congdon Hill Drive to assist with the investigation shortly before 2 p.m., according to Capt. John Christopher of the Allentown Fire Department.

As authorities continue their investigation, stay tuned for updates on this developing situation.
