Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital held its annual health fair in Newberg, West Virginia, providing free and low-cost health screenings and education to the community. The event has been part of the hospital’s community outreach programs since 2003 and is co-hosted by the Newberg Rotary Club.

The health fair was organized by staff from Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation, Trauma and Primary Care – Fellowsville, along with the Newberg Rotary Club, the Newberg Senior Center and ten other health and community agencies. It offered low-cost blood screenings, free vision screenings and free blood pressure tests, as well as educational resources on various health topics such as organ donation, stroke and heart attack symptoms, substance use prevention, respiratory care and more.

Melissa Lockwood, chief administrative officer of Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital, emphasized the importance of these health fairs in furthering the hospital’s mission to improve the health of the communities they serve. She highlighted that despite being located in rural areas where access to healthcare can be limited, the hospital is proud to partner with local organizations to educate people on their health options and expand access to quality care.
