Two Los Angeles-area men were arrested by authorities following a robbery at a Palm Desert business. The arrests were made after a brief pursuit in connection with an earlier theft investigation. One of the men was a 47-year-old from Glendale, while the other was a 40-year-old from Hollywood.

The incident occurred on Monday around 5:30 p.m., when deputies responded to a report of grand theft at a business in the 73000 block of El Paseo. Deputies discovered that two men had entered the business, concealed merchandise on their person, and left without paying. They then fled in a newer model white Lexus.

The investigation was handled by the Special Enforcement Team (SET) and the Palm Desert Business District Team (BDT). The suspects were located at a shopping center in La Quinta around 8:35 p.m. They tried to escape, but were arrested after a short chase.

The stolen items, along with suspected stolen bottles of wine and medication, were recovered by deputies from the suspects’ vehicle. Both were booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for grand theft and felony evading.

The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone with information about the theft or the items found is urged to contact Deputy Hindijeh or Deputy Bothell at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station. They can be reached at 760-836-1600.
