The PGA of America has announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2023, which includes CBS Sportscaster Jim Nantz. In addition to Nance, the class includes Robert Dolan, Don Vegzin, Herb Wimberly, Susie Whaley, and Kathy Whitworth (posthumously). The induction ceremony will take place on November 8 in Frisco, Texas.
Nanz, who will be inducted into the ambassador category, has already been recognized for his contribution to sports broadcasting. He is a member of the Sports Hall of Fame and is the youngest person to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Nantz has won three Emmy Awards and been named National Sportscaster of the Year five times since joining CBS in 1985.
PGA of America President John Lindert expressed his admiration for the achievements of the inductees, stating that they have made a significant impact on the game of golf and have inspired countless individuals. Lindert pointed out how these individuals either proudly represented the PGA of America in their daily efforts or used their voices to support the sport and the organization. The PGA of America is honored to celebrate their contributions to the sport everyone loves.
