KinderFarms, LLC has issued a recall for all batches of KinderMed Infants’ Pain & Fever (oral suspension) and KinderMed Kids’ Pain & Fever (oral suspension) due to potential health risks associated with the instability of acetaminophen. The products are manufactured and packaged by a large US-based OTC pharmaceutical manufacturer.

Following ongoing testing of sample batches, it was discovered that some product batches were no longer within the required specifications and may pose a health risk. Affected products include all KinderMed Children’s Pain and Fever (2 fl. oz./59 mL), (acetaminophen – 160 mg per 5 mL) oral suspension and KinderMed Children’s Pain and Fever (4 fl. oz./118 mL), (acetaminophen – 160 mg per 5 mL), oral suspension.

The recall was launched out of an abundance of caution, as the potential health risk of off-spec acetaminophen may cause acute adverse health effects at higher doses, including abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or jaundice. To date, KinderFarms has not received any reports of serious adverse events from any of these products.

KinderFarms is urging consumers who have purchased either product to stop using them immediately and return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Products are available nationwide in drugstores/pharmacies, supermarkets, direct delivery and national retailers, as well as online through major e-commerce sites. Consumers with questions can contact the company at consumerrelations@kinderfarms.com or 800-996-2930.
