Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard has been released from the team after six years with the franchise. Colts owner Jim Irsay thanked Leonard for his contributions to the team and expressed gratitude for his service. In response, Leonard posted a farewell message on social media, expressing his love for the city of Indianapolis and its fans.
Throughout his time with the Colts, Leonard had many accomplishments. He was a second-round pick in 2018 and won Defensive Rookie of the Year as well as being named first-team All-Pro. However, back injuries and reduced playing time led to his release from the team.
Despite his departure, Leonard remains grateful for the support he received from Colts fans and expressed his love for the city. He will now seek a new team as a free agent, with the option of signing a new contract elsewhere.
