The people of Maryville, Tennessee are coming together in support of the family of Deputy Greg McCowan, who tragically passed away. In an effort to help the family, Pokey’s and Sports, a business located in downtown Maryville, has taken the initiative to sell T-shirts as gifts for $20 each.
Julie Nelson expressed that everyone wants to help and that buying a shirt is something anyone can do. All proceeds from shirt sales will go directly to the McCovan family. The response was huge, with over 500 T-shirts already made. The local community has shown tremendous support, with many ordering t-shirts to show their condolences and support to the family at this difficult time.
John Lindbaugh, part of the management of Pokies and Sports, said many of the people affected by the tragedy were known to the community. This personal connection motivated many to contribute to the cause by purchasing tribute shirts. As orders continue to pour in, Pokei’s and Sports have committed to printing and selling the shirts as long as there is demand. For those unable to visit the store, online orders and in-store pickup are available. The community support is a testament to the impact Deputy McCovan had on the people he served.
