In recognition of their outstanding performances both on the field and in the classroom, Langdon Hutton and Billy Smith have been named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators District All-Academic Team. This prestigious team acknowledges the nation’s top student-athletes for their dedication to excellence.

Langdon Hutton, a junior majoring in data science, had an impressive season averaging 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds. He also scored a game-high 27 points against Kennesaw State, demonstrating his versatility as a player. This is Langdon’s second academic honor of the postseason, having previously been named to the 2024 Academic All-ASUN team.

Billy Smith, a sophomore psychology major who transferred from Miami (OH), had a breakout season averaging 5.8 points and shooting an impressive 34.6 percent from three. In his first season with Bellarmine, he scored a game-high 17 points against Berea, showcasing his potential as a valuable member of the team.

To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 and either play in at least 90 percent of the team’s games or start at least 66 percent of the games. Both Hutton and Smith’s recognition reflects their commitment to excellence both on and off the court.
