Miguel Angel Jimenez, a Spanish golfer, finished second at the Hoag Classic on Sunday at Newport Beach Country Club. Harrington, an Irishman who is set to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in June, secured his seventh PGA Tour Championship victory with a final score of 14-under 199.

Despite a double bogey on the par-4 16th hole, Harrington displayed his resilience by sinking crucial birdies on the final two holes. With a 15-footer on the par-3 17th and an 8-footer on the par-5 18th, Harrington emerged victorious by one stroke over Thongchai Jaidee.

Jaidee, originally from Thailand, finished just behind Harrington with a strong final round performance of 69. Stephen Ames secured fourth place at 11 under after shooting a 67, while Jerry Kelly and K.J. Choi were tied at 10 under after rounds of 67 and 68 respectively. Steve Striker finished one stroke behind with a score of 70.
