Dundee graduates Casey Swiderski and Braden Davis had impressive performances at the NCAA Wrestling Championships over the weekend. Swiderski earned All-American status for Iowa State by placing seventh in the 149-pound weight class, while Davis helped Penn State secure a national title.

Davis, at 125 pounds, just missed becoming an All-American after being eliminated in the blood round. On the other hand, Stoney Buell from Dundee represented Purdue at 165 pounds in the national finals but came up short against tough competition.

In college softball action, Monroe graduate Ellie Sieler and her Michigan team swept Whiteford graduate Allie VanBrandt and Indiana in a three-game series. Sieler had a strong game at the plate, while Vanbrandt contributed to Indiana’s offense.

On the high school soccer front, Flat Rock secured a 1-0 victory over Wyandotte Roosevelt with Isabella Thomas scoring the lone goal with an assist from Megan Walkers and goaltender Keola Botts recording the shutout.

In new baseball action, Bedford bounced back to beat Toledo St. John 12-4 in the season opener. Jason Bryant and Brady Boasel each had two hits, while pitchers Landon Sparks and Evan Bullard turned in solid performances on the mound.
