Eleven-year-old Truman McNitt has become a sensation across the country for his entrepreneurial spirit and sweet tooth. His journey began when his mother bought a candy making machine for fun, which sparked his idea to start selling cotton candy. Today, McNitt’s company, Sugar Twist Trinkets, offers a wide variety of cotton candy flavors and even spins them live at events.

Despite being just 11 years old, McNitt takes his job seriously and acknowledges the responsibility that comes with being a business owner. His mother, Caitlin Brotz-McKnitt, plays a supporting role in his venture, providing guidance, encouragement and retail space at her store Olive in downtown Sheboygan. In addition to cotton candy, McNitt also sells toy slime and freeze-dried candies which he says have a light and crunchy texture thanks to the freeze-drying process.

As an expert on all things sweets, McNitt enjoys sampling new products and experimenting with different flavors. He finds joy in creating cotton candy and freeze dried candy while running his business. Apart from selling his products at his mom’s store, he also has an online presence where customers can purchase his sweet treats. It is safe to say that McNitt’s future as an entrepreneur looks bright.
