Exploring the Future of Space: Rocket Lab’s Electron Rockettakes Center Stage at the California Science Center

The California Science Center is now hosting a temporary exhibition featuring Rocket Lab’s Electron rocket, which is available for public viewing at the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center Art Gallery. This exhibit provides a sneak peek into new artifacts and plans for the future of aerospace. The Electron rocket has never been seen up close by the public before, making this a rare opportunity to experience history in the making.

Peter Beck, founder and CEO of Rocket Lab, expressed his pride in being included in the exhibit alongside other legendary names in Southern California aerospace. He emphasized Rocket Lab’s mission to democratize access to space and inspire future leaders in STEM fields. According to Beck, the inclusion of Electron in the exhibition is an honor that he hopes will inspire others to pursue careers in aerospace and science technology.

The Electron is known as one of the world’s most successful launch vehicles, having completed over 50 launches from sites in New Zealand and Virginia, USA. It is also the first carbon composite orbital launch vehicle and uses 3D printed engines. The Electron rocket features ten 3-D printed Rutherford motors designed and manufactured in Long Beach, California. Since its first launch in 2017, Electron has successfully placed over 190 satellites into orbit for customers across various sectors such as commercial, civil, defense, and academia.
