Sony Interactive Entertainment has released the demo for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PS5, giving players the chance to experience the opening chapter of one of the most anticipated games of 2024. The demo will be split into two parts, with the second part set to release on February 21, offering a sneak peek at the game’s expansive world before its official launch.

During Sony’s State of Play dedicated to the game, not only was the demo unveiled but also the final trailer was shown, which offered an overview of the plot and characters. The trailer included new locations, mini-games, and the return of familiar characters. Additionally, a new combat system was introduced that combines real-time action with strategic controls.

The “Fall of Heroes at Nibelheim” demo includes an extensive flashback section that allows players to relive key story missions set five years before the main events of the game. On February 21st, an update will be released for this section called “Dawn of a New Era in Junon,” which offers additional exploration and combat options. It is important to note that progress made in this section will not transfer to the full game, while steps present in the first demo can be skipped throughout it. Players who complete this demo will receive bonuses that can be used throughout it, including a moogle amulet and a set of adventure items.

The presentation provided a broad overview of the game’s features such as traversing methods in its world and how characters interact with each other which affect how story unfolds. New information about protagonists and mechanics like skill trees and soundtrack were also shared.
