Florida cities continue to attract people moving across the US, with eight of them among the top 12 metros with positive net domestic migration rates. Wildwood-The Villages led the way with the highest rate per 1,000 people at about 60, according to a recent analysis by Business Insider.

Several Florida metro areas experienced significant net domestic migration rates during the period from July 1, 2022 to next July. Wildwood-The Villages also had the largest population growth during this time, increasing by 4.7% from a total of 144,767.

Business Insider analyzed US metros with the most positive net domestic migration, focusing on those where more people were moving in from other areas of the US than moving out. The latest data from the Census Bureau covers this period.

Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington had the largest positive net migration among metros at 60,457. Many individuals also moved to Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands and Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, both in Florida, with net domestic migration values of 39,644 and 35,830 respectively.

When considering metro population as of July 1, 2022, Wildwood-The Villages stood out with an advanced net domestic migration rate of about 8,684 per thousand people. Myrtle Beach-Conway-North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina followed closely behind with a rate per thousand people of about 39 and a net domestic migration of 15,061.
