Fortum, the energy company, recently held its general meeting and elected nine new board members. Mikael Silvennoinen was named president, Esimari Kairisto as vice president, and Ralf Christian, Luisa Delgado, Jonas Gustavsson, Marita Niemela, Prank Paavola, Johan Soderström and Vesa-Pekka Takala as board members. The state has decided to relinquish its board seat at Fortum, which will take effect in January with the departure of Maja Strandberg.

During the general assembly, several important decisions were made to ensure the smooth functioning of the company in the future. All individuals who will be board members and executive directors in 2023 were granted discharge for the financial year 2023. Additionally, a dividend of EUR 1.15 per share was approved. The assembly also authorized the board to decide on the acquisition of the company’s own shares with a maximum of 20 million shares. This authorization included the transfer of 20 million shares.

The election of new board members and granting them powers for various actions ensures that Fortum is well-positioned to continue its operations effectively and efficiently in the future. These decisions were aimed at ensuring that the company can operate smoothly going forward and achieve its goals successfully.
