The Panola County Chamber of Commerce in Tyler, Texas is hosting a Spring Youth Sports Closet event to provide gear and uniforms for young athletes. Many parents struggle to afford all the necessities for their kids to play sports, so the Panola County Chamber of Commerce and several other groups have teamed up to make it easier for kids to play the sports they love.

Janet Humber, president of the Carthage Service League, expressed her commitment to continue supporting the sports lockers and helping children in the community. She believes that by providing resources, young athletes can stay in the environment and continue to develop their skills.

Kerry Perot Vance, executive director of the Panola County Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of community involvement in supporting youth sports. She believes that by providing necessary resources, they can encourage young athletes to stay in the environment and continue to develop their skills.

The Excellent Teen Choice group, led by Sharon Roberson-Jones, hopes their efforts will inspire other districts to create similar opportunities for young athletes. Donations are accepted year-round, and the closet is open during major sports seasons. The spring event will end on May 24th. Anyone interested in donating or picking up youth baseball or softball equipment can contact the Panola County Chamber of Commerce in Carthage.
