Sarah Becker, a former reality TV star who appeared on Season 5 of MTV’s “The Real World,” has died at age 52. According to Becker’s family, she died by suicide at her home in Illinois last week. The news of her death was confirmed by a spokesperson for MTV, who expressed their condolences to Becker’s family and friends during this difficult time.
Becker joined the cast of The Real World in 1996 for its fifth season, set in Miami, Florida. At the time, she was working as an editor at Wildstorm Comics in La Jolla, California. In a promotional video for the show, Becker described herself as “a 19-year-old trapped in a 25-year-old’s body.” During her time on the show, Becker lived with roommates Joe Patan, Dan Renzi, Melissa Padron, Mike Lambert, Cynthia Roberts, and Flora Alekseeva.
