Yassem Mohammed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has expressed grave concern over Israel’s “declared intentions” to invade Rafah. He described this as a “flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian conventions” and warned that it could have far-reaching consequences.

Albudaiwi emphasized that the planned invasion not only has the potential to escalate violence but also threatens to destabilize the security and stability of the region. Moreover, he pointed out that this could lead to further deterioration and suffering of the Palestinian people.

Calling on the international community to take action, Albudaiwi called for a united front against these Israeli plans. He stressed the importance of solving the situation in the spirit of unity and shared responsibility, and with a deep commitment to the principles of peace, justice and human dignity.

Albudaiwi’s statement serves as a call to action for the international community to come together and respond to the potential consequences of the planned Israeli invasion of Rafah. He emphasizes the need for joint efforts in respect of international law and humanitarian conventions, as well as in promoting peace and stability in the region.
