The USA was eliminated from the U17 World Cup tournament after losing to Germany in a thrilling Round of 16 match held in Indonesia. The game saw Germany take an early lead, with Charles Herrmann scoring a free kick in the 14th minute to put them ahead. However, the USA quickly equalized with a goal by Taha Habrun just 10 minutes later.
Germany regained the lead before the break with a goal from Max Merstedt. In the second half, Germany threatened to extend their lead, but the USA managed to equalize for the second time with a David Vasquez free kick in the 80th minute. Despite this, substitute Bilal Yalcinkaj’s efforts were too late as Germany secured the win in the 87th minute.
The victory advanced Germany to the quarter-finals, where they will face Spain on November 24. This result was disappointing for the USA, who were eliminated from the competition.
