Giants general manager Joe Schoen has stated that Darren Waller’s future with the New York Giants through the 2024 season is uncertain. Sean stated at the league meetings that Waller has not yet decided whether to retire or continue to play. This comes after Waller mentioned earlier this month that he would make a decision soon. The Giants are giving the tight end the time he needs to make up his mind.

Darren Waller was acquired by the Giants in a trade with the Raiders last year, and during the previous season, he had 52 catches for 552 yards and one touchdown. However, he missed five games with a hamstring injury. Hamstring problems have been an ongoing issue for Waller in recent years, which may affect his decision regarding his future on the field.

Currently under contract with the Giants through 2026, Waller will earn a non-guaranteed salary of $10.525 million for the upcoming 2024 season. With Waller’s status uncertain, the Giants are preparing for different scenarios and will respect his decision, whether it’s to retire or continue playing in the NFL.
