The Giants made a significant addition to their free agent list by signing outfielder Jorge Soler to a three-year contract. At 31 years old, Soler brings much-needed power to the Giants’ lineup.

Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle broke the news Monday night. Soler had an excellent 2023 season with the Miami Marlins, hitting 36 home runs and posting a .250/.341/.512 line. He was also the 2021 World Series MVP with the Atlanta Braves, helping them win the championship with a .300 batting average, three home runs and six RBI.

This reported deal is a big step forward for San Francisco as they look to improve their offensive capabilities. The Giants took a step in the right direction by adding Soler, who will provide valuable power and versatility to their lineup.
