Google’s latest update for its Maps app is now available in 40 cities across North America. Starting next week, users will have access to a new feature that provides recommendations for popular sites, hidden gems and historically significant locations to visit. The app’s algorithmic recommendations include weekly updates from sources such as the New York Times and Lonely Planet.

In addition to the new Maps update, Google is introducing a translation feature to its Circle to Search feature. This new feature enables users to easily translate any content on their screen, including online menus and local events pages. The translation software is currently available on select devices but will be rolled out to more Android devices in the near future.
