High school football action on Friday, September 14 was nothing short of exciting. In the Class 4A boys division, San Elizario dominated Austin with a 5-0 victory. Meanwhile, Riverside secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bowie in an intense game. Moving up to Class 5A boys, Burgess emerged victorious with a thrilling 2-1 win over Amarillo Caprock. In the Class 6A boys division, Eastlake triumphed over Odessa Permian with a brilliant 3-0 performance and Pebble Hills secured a nail-biting 1-0 victory in overtime against Montwood.

In high school softball action on the same day, Chapin secured a narrow victory over EPHS with a final score of 3-1. The trip defeated Del Valle in an epic battle that went all the way to the ninth inning with a score of 2-1. Coronado and Pebble Hills also secured wins in their respective games, while Tornillo defeated Kermit with ease. With outstanding performances from players like S. Gomez and L.
