In a nail-biting match, the Hollidaysburg Area High School boys tennis team emerged victorious with a 3-2 win against Altoona. The Golden Tigers maintained their undefeated streak at 5-0, while Altoona’s record slipped to 1-4. Luke Mitchell secured a win for Altoona in singles, while Aiden Aiken and Avery Lanzendorfer won the doubles match for the Golden Tigers. Garrett Bouchard and Michael Weibel also got singles wins for Hollidaysburg, as did Alex Arbogast and Jacob Sidney in doubles.

Meanwhile, Central High School’s baseball team cruised to a 19-9 victory over Penns Valley in six innings. Mason Byler came on in relief and struck out four, leading the way for Central’s offensive attack. Jay Hoenstein had three hits and four RBIs, Troy McNichol added three hits and three RBIs, Griffin Snowberger contributed three hits and two RBIs, and Britton Marco pitched in with two hits and three RBIs.

Central scored 19 runs on 11 hits, while Penns Valley managed just nine runs on seven hits. The win improved Central’s record to 2-0, while Penns Valley fell to 1-3.
