In recent weeks, the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll has seen a great deal of movement in men’s basketball. Connecticut and Purdue remain at the top of the rankings, with Connecticut holding onto their position as defending champions and Purdue securing second place. Both teams have continued to impress with dominant performances, which is reflected in the number of #1 votes they received.

Houston has made a comeback and is now in third place, with just 12 voting points separating them from the next four teams. Marquette has made an impressive leap to No. 4, while North Carolina has fallen to No. 5 after losing to Clemson. Arizona has climbed to No. 6, while Kansas has fallen to seventh.

Duke, Tennessee, and Iowa State are all part of the top 10, with South Carolina making a strong case for inclusion after jumping nine spots. Kentucky and Wisconsin have both moved in opposite directions after their recent performances. Wisconsin dropped 12 spots after four straight losses, while Kentucky fell five spots after three straight home losses.

Indiana State has made a significant entry into the poll at No. 24, marking their first ranking since their historic 1979 season. St
