Richard Tugman has been named interim president and CEO of the Lynchburg Health Center, a subsidiary of Centra Health. Tugman, who has served as Piedmont Community Health Plan’s executive director since 2016, previously served as interim executive director of Center 2021.
The announcement was made Thursday by Thomas Nygaard, MD, chairman of the Center’s Board of Directors. Nygaard thanked Amy Carrier for her contributions to the Center and wished her well in her future endeavors. Tugman voluntarily took over as interim president and CEO, with a transition committee appointed to advise him in his new role.
Tugman’s deep understanding of the organization and its people makes him well suited to lead the Center during this transition period while a national search is conducted for a permanent executive director. The board looks forward to working with Tugman as they search for a new leader to lead the organization into the future.
