Iran Fires Back at Israel in Response to Alleged Airstrike on Embassy

According to reports from Iran’s Fars news agency, just days after Tehran fired 300 missiles at Israel, the country has launched an attack on Iran. The attack was in response to an alleged Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. Three explosions were heard near a military base in Isfahan, and Iranian state television claims that the country’s defense system has managed to destroy three drones in the sky.

Israel vowed to retaliate against the Iranian attack over the weekend, which was largely deterred by Tel Aviv and its allies, including the United States. Meanwhile, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has issued a warning that his country will respond strongly to any attacks on its territory.

The Israeli flag is seen flying on the Mount of Olives above the Al Aqsa Mosque compound and the city skyline in Jerusalem on April 19, 2024. US media sources quoted officials as saying that Israel had retaliated against Iran.
