As a journalist, I have had the opportunity to book air travel for various reasons. On this particular trip, I decided to go with Norse Atlantic Airways, a new low-cost airline that launched in 2022 and offered direct flights to several European countries.

I opted for an economy easy ticket, which cost $88 and included a seat and luggage space. In addition, I paid an additional $75 to reserve a window seat in advance and a $20 airport check-in fee, bringing the total to $183. While I appreciate the extra day at my destination that comes with red-eye flights, I’ve never taken an international overnight flight before and felt exhausted at the start of my trip. In my opinion, the time saved was not worth the fatigue I experienced.

Booking a low-cost airline for a long-haul flight can save you money upfront, but it’s important to consider the potential downsides, such as discomfort and exhaustion. Overall, while it may seem like a good option on paper, it’s crucial to weigh the pros and cons before making any decisions regarding your travel plans.
