Israel Slams UN for Granting Full Membership to Palestinians: Calls Ambassadors to Meeting

Israel has strongly condemned the recent decision of the UN Security Council to grant the Palestinians full membership in the United Nations. In response, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the ambassadors of countries that support this decision will be invited to a meeting. This includes the ambassadors of France, Japan, South Korea, Malta, Slovak Republic and Ecuador.

The Israeli government considers this decision a “bonus for terrorism” and will not accept the establishment of a terrorist state that poses a threat to its citizens. They argue that recognizing a Palestinian state within the United Nations, without an agreement between Israel and the Palestinians, is not the right approach.

In contrast, the United States, a key ally of Israel, used its veto power during the Security Council vote to prevent the Palestinians from gaining full membership. The US argues that recognition of a Palestinian state should come from a bilateral agreement and not be decided within the United Nations.

Israel’s response to this vote is to express strong protests to ambassadors from countries that supported Palestinian bid for full membership. They see this decision as a dangerous step that could escalate conflict in region and endanger citizens of Israel.
