Prime Minister Andrej Plenković has been accused of insulting and belittling state authorities, specifically President Zoran Milanović, by Deputy Mayor of Split Bojan Ivošević. This is happening after Ivošević himself was sanctioned and fined 700 euros by the police for a similar offense earlier this month.
The incident occurred when Ivošević clashed with the police while trying to prevent the illegal cutting of a tree in Glagoljaška Street in Split. In the heat of the moment, he called them “men” and “abnormal”. Now, Ivošević has decided to take action and publicly filed a misdemeanor complaint against Plenković on Facebook.
According to Ivošević, his goal is to see if the police are equally zealous when it comes to insulting and belittling other state authorities. He believes that Mayor Ante Balov will act in the same way as in similar cases and issue a misdemeanor order against the Prime Minister for derogatory statements about the President.
Ivošević filed a misdemeanor report at the 2nd police station, citing Plenković’s recent insults against President Milanović. He hopes that this action will have similar consequences as his own sanction for similar behavior towards the police.
