Jerry Seinfeld on the State of the Movie Industry: A Chat with GK

In an interview with GK, Jerry Seinfeld recently shared his insights on the current state of the movie business. According to the comedian, there is a sense of confusion among show business workers due to the disorientation experienced by those in the industry. He noted that many people in show business are unsure of what to do and how to navigate the changing landscape of the film industry.

Despite this uncertainty, Seinfeld is excited about his upcoming project, Unfrosted, which will be released on Netflix next month. The film marks his directorial debut and he expressed surprise at the seriousness with which people in the film industry approach their work. Although Seinfeld didn’t explicitly tell his co-stars that the film business was over, he acknowledged that it no longer has the same cultural significance as it once did.

Seinfeld elaborated on how movies used to be a central part of social and cultural discussions, with people eagerly awaiting new releases and engaging in conversations about their favorite movies. However, in today’s fast-paced media landscape, he noted that people are constantly inundated with content and struggle to keep up with the amount of entertainment available.

Unfrosted tells a unique story about competition between Kellogg’s and Post in 1963 as they compete to create a revolutionary breakfast pastry. The film promises to be a whimsical tale of ambition, betrayal and quirky characters all set against the backdrop of the grain industry. Seinfeld is joined by an all-star cast including Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Hugh Grant, Amy Schumer, Max Greenfield, Christian Slater
