JMU Football Departs from Key Players: Tyreek Tucker, Solomon Vanhors, Sammi Malignaggi, Collin Carroll, and Wesley Bostic

The JMU Football portal is closely monitored for any updates on player transfers and movements. While there have been no new additions to the squad yet, several key departures have been announced.

One of the most significant losses for the team is that of defensive end Tyreek Tucker, who played in all 13 games in 2023 and was slated to be a starter in 2024. With three years of eligibility remaining, his departure is a big blow for the squad.

In addition to Tucker, running back Solomon Vanhors has also left the team. Although he saw limited playing time last season, he was behind Ayo Adei and George Pettaway on the depth chart. Sammi Malignaggi, another backup running back and kick returner, is also leaving JMU in search of more playing time.

Tight end Collin Carroll has also decided to leave the program after redshirting in 2023. The tight end position at JMU is already packed with players like Key Wright and Taylor Thompson leading the way. Wesley Bostic, an offensive lineman with three years of eligibility remaining, has also entered the transfer portal as a backup lineman who was not expected to see significant playing time in 2024.
