John E. Anzac, a 66-year-old resident of Hannibal, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Born on July 31, 1957 to the late Shirley (Cochrane) and John Anzac, he was employed by the US Postal Service for over three decades. For 24 years, he served as a mail carrier before retiring on his birthday in 2009.
John enjoyed a range of hobbies in his free time, including fishing and watching sports. He was well-loved by those who knew him for his friendly demeanor and sense of humor.
Survivors include John’s brother James Anzac of St. Clairsville, OH; niece Megan Anzac of Taylors, SC; step-niece Kelly Riesbeck of Marines Ferry; and three first cousins. The family is grateful for the love and support they have received from their community during this difficult time.
Family and friends will gather to pay their respects to John at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church located at 73339 Pleasant Grove Rd in St Clairsville on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11 AM. Services will be held at 1 PM with Pastor Dan Nelson officiating. The Schuetz Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
