The return of Justin Jefferson to the fantasy football lineup may not be immediate in Week 14, despite the high hopes among his fantasy managers. Stephania Bell discusses why Monday night’s Minnesota Vikings game complicates things for Jefferson’s fantasy managers.

The star wide receiver suffered a right hamstring injury in Week 5 and was placed on injured reserve. Jefferson and Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell stressed the need to return to 100 percent health before considering a return to the field.

On Tuesday, Jefferson took to social media to make it clear that his health is his top priority and that fantasy football concerns will not affect his return. The Vikings have been cautious in their approach to Jefferson’s recovery, opening his 21-day practice period on Nov. 8, and indicated they could keep him sidelined for Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bears to take advantage of the bye week that follows.

O’Connell stressed the importance of Jefferson’s long-term health and career, saying they need to be smart about his return, especially with five key games coming up. He reiterated that Jefferson’s well-being takes precedence over the team’s short-term needs, despite the importance of the games ahead. The Vikings are focused on solidifying their playoff position and competing in the division, but not at the expense of Jefferson’s long career.
