The Family Science Week Fair at MTU’s Kerry North Campus was a bustling event over the weekend, with attendees of all ages getting into the science spirit. Photographs by Domnick Walsh captured Aliiah Bruce and Rebekah Lundy having a great time at the fair, along with 10-year-old Eoin McMillan getting into the action. Daithi Nolan was also seen enjoying the event, as were Keeley Flaherty and Lily Walsh who were photographed with Nutti Scientist, Robert Cooke.

TI student Muireann Hussey from Merci Mounthawk in Tralee was filmed testing Daitha Nolan’s skin at the showcase event, which was part of National Science Week. Sisters August Culhane and Sheerin Culhane were also photographed at the event, and six-year-olds Keelan Wren, Aidan Nkomo and Jaiden Duma were snapped enjoying the VR experience.

The showcase event featured a wide range of activities, including VR experiences, science testing, robotics, weather forecasting, an electric vehicle display, sustainable food making, zoology, book readings, a sustainable recycling workshop for children, slime experiments and more. Organizers described it as a fantastic day of free fun, noting the amazement in the children’s eyes at the range of activities available to them.

The exhibition was just one of many events happening over the weekend at Munster University of Technology (MTU) North Campus in Tralee. Check out our photo gallery above for more shots from the event.
