Lincoln Land Community College is offering free classes to seniors who are struggling to keep up with the rapidly changing technology. These courses will cover the basics of email, internet, mobile devices, cyber security, computer basics and video conferencing. The classes will be held in downtown Springfield at the College Center, located at 130 W Street. Mason St.

David CL Bauer is the editor and publisher of the Journal-Courier. He joined the publication in 2009 as an editor and added publishing responsibilities in 2016. Bauer, a native of Cincinnati, has worked as an editor for newspapers in Florida, Ohio and Kentucky, and also served as an adjunct instructor of journalism at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. Additionally, he worked at radio stations in Ohio as a news director and disc jockey.

According to Laurel Bretz, assistant vice president at LLCC, the worldwide movement toward digital services and access has left many seniors feeling isolated, frustrated, and socially excluded. In response to this issue, LLCC is offering these free classes to help seniors bridge the digital divide and stay connected with their loved ones and community.
