Matt Corral was released from the Patriots’ exempt/left tackle list

The New England Patriots have officially parted techniques with quarterback Matt Corral. On Monday, Corral was removed from the waived/left squad list, according to the transaction wire. The Patriots claimed Corral just after the Panthers waived him in the course of roster cuts. Initially, Corral became the second quarterback on New England’s 53-man roster, along with Mack Jones, just after the group previously waived Bailey Zapp and Malik Cunningham. On the other hand, Corral was placed on the left group list on September 9. Given that then, Zappé has rejoined the 53-man roster as Jones’ backup.

Corral, a third-round choose in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Ole Miss, had to sit out his whole rookie season with a foot injury.
