PRG, or Production Resource Group, is a key player in bringing artists’ visions to life on Broadway. The company provides equipment and services for 23 of the 26 productions currently at Main Tree, including lighting and sound rentals, video and projection equipment, stage automation capabilities and operating software.

PRG was originally formed by two separate companies: Harris Production Services, founded by Jere Harris in 1984, and Scenic Technologies, founded by Fred Gallo in 1985. These two companies merged in 1988 after the dominant stage act of the time was unable to cope with The Phantom of the Opera transferring from London to Broadway.

Since then, PRG has expanded its offerings to include more technologies. What began as a focus on landscape and automation has grown to include lighting, audio, video and live broadcast services. According to PRG’s VP of Broadway, Alex Donnelly, the company provides “everything to do with technical theater.”
