Microsoft has announced the addition of former OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and former OpenAI president Greg Brockman to its ranks. The news comes after Altman was ousted from his position at OpenAI, and there was some confusion when the company’s board appeared to consider reversing the decision before settling on former Twitch CEO Emmett Shear as interim CEO.

Altman’s replacement at OpenAI, Shiro, has now been replaced by Murati, who openly supported Altman. Meanwhile, Microsoft has not provided any comment or details about the new team joining the company. In a post on X, Brockman said he, Altman and others plan to “build something new” and “amazing” at Microsoft.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella expressed excitement at the news of the new team joining the company and is committed to providing both Altman and Brockman with the resources they need to succeed. Despite the move, the company remains committed to its partnership with OpenAI.
