Elevating Lawn Care for Men and Women is a program through Student Startup that aims to teach teenagers how to provide lawn care services, start their own businesses and become successful adults. Program leader Eli Isaacs focuses on using lawn mowing as a way to help teenage boys transition into manhood and build confidence in their abilities.

The program involves teenagers volunteering to mow lawns for people in need for free. After completing 50 lawns, they earn $500 worth of mowing equipment to start their own business. One participant, Darius Hancock, finds the program fun and educational in learning about mowing and running a business.

Hancock learned a variety of skills related to mowing, customer service and business management, which he plans to apply to starting his own mowing business in the future. Similarly, fellow participant Jaquin Santivanez found the program valuable in learning about giving back to the community and helping those in need.

Liam Ramsey also sees the program as an opportunity to help others and bring positivity into people’s lives. Through volunteering and mentoring, the program aims to help students develop lawn mowing and business management skills while instilling values of community service and helping those in need. Participants express satisfaction in their ability to give back to the community and improve the lives of others through their mowing services.
